Karan Doekhi
Karan is a lawyer at heart. He was born and raised in the Netherlands and studied law at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. During 2008, Karan started working as a lawyer.
Some years after practicing Law, he attended and successfully completed the Legal English course at the Regina Coelli Language Institute and the National and International Contracts course at the Grotius Academy.
Karan's practice here in Curaçao at Murray Attorneys at Law focuses on corporate and contract law in the broadest sense. For example, Karan advises entrepreneurs on directors' liability, shareholder disputes and takeover procedures. Karan also advises entrepreneurs on contractual matters, such as drafting or reviewing custom-made commercial contracts. Finally, Karan litigates in Curacao and on the other islands.
Besides being a lawyer, Karan is a guest lecturer at the University of Curacao. He teaches various civil subjects including (in-depth) Business Law and Law of Obligations. Teaching is a deep-rooted passion of Karan next to the legal profession. Herewith Karan tries to contribute to the development of the new generation of jurists and lawyers on and also outside Curacao.
In his spare time, Karan loves the beautiful things in life. For Karan, these include traveling to faraway and often diverse destinations together with his wife. But Karan can also really enjoy a nice dinner savoring the local cuisine scene!
